Manager - Quality Assurance

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a Manager - Quality Assurance. HFHI staff and affiliates are seeking change, expressing the desire for a different and more coordinated approach to HFHI’s work with the affiliate network. HFHI recognizes a need—and has heard demand for—clearer and higher operating and performance expectations for affiliates. These adjusted expectations would need to be accompanied with clear consequences and timelines for non-compliance. In order to implement clear and higher expectations, HFHI intends to expand the Operational Excellence team so that there is more capacity to do this work. This will enable HFHI to move more quickly and effectively in supporting at-risk affiliates and monitoring compliance.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Manager – Quality Assurance will help monitor the new Quality Assurance Checklist (QAC). S/he will also help identify and create new adaptable resources / templates that help affiliates comply with requirements. Will also help create and implement a strategy for building an excellent QA support system based upon information gleaned from the QAC.

  • Support implementation of new QAC
  • Create plan for and implement verification checklist associated with new QAC
  • Working with ReStore group, create plan to integrate Restore operating standards into the QAC
  • Create and implement strategies for training and support of affiliates that are not in compliance
  • Collaborate with US Office, legal, other departments to develop adaptable resources for affiliates to more easily comply with QAC requirements
  • Work with MyHabitat team to build out robust QA center on MyHabitat platform
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with Habitat for Humanity and/or other federated nonprofit organizations
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Travel: 20-25%
  • Strong project management skills; can coordinate between many people across departments and levels.
  • Grasps pending policy, Good Standing and compliance issues and their impact on US affiliates and operations
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and diverse projects while working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communicator and able to adapt communication to the audience
