Reporting to the Senior Director of New Business Development, the Manager of New Business Development is responsible for securing new revenue through strategic partnerships with mid-tier corporations in support of MOD’s mission. The candidate will manage a portfolio of prospects and be personally responsible for a minimum revenue goal of $500,000 annually.
The Manager, NBD will support the New Business Development team in advancing the March of Dimes national corporate programs, create sales and stewardship materials and manage department revenue reporting to help reach corporate fundraising and organizational long term impact goals.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Work closely with the Sr. Director, New Business Development and National Corporate Engagement team to support broad national corporate strategies, initiatives, and campaigns
  • Respond and vet all inbound partnership inquiries
  • Serve as the creative force in the development of corporate partnership sales materials, training materials, sponsorship appeals, stewardship resources and sponsor-oriented special events. 
  • Enhance the current tracking and reporting systems for Corporate Engagement department 
  • Assist with developing creative sales presentations
  • Serve as the liaison with database/research resources to provide up-to-date company research on CSR objectives, marketing strategies and company contact information
  • Maintain an updated library of collateral, resources, templates and samples for the corporate development team 
  • Qualify prospects and design effective partnership programs based upon knowledge of partner business/ CSR objectives and alignment with MOD funding priorities.
  • Manages special department projects, as requested
  • Responsible for meeting annual corporate fund-raising goals for renewals and new business.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of mid-tier (under $100,000) prospects through systematic and ongoing prospecting activities
  • Develop comprehensive solicitation plans and pitches that outline stakeholder involvement and strategic approach for cultivation and solicitation of partner commitment.
  • Remain current on market trends, and competitor actions in order to identify opportunities for prospect development.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred and/or directly related professional skills and experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience in increasingly responsible positions with demonstrated success in corporate engagement. 
  • Candidate must have a sophistication in understanding corporate landscape, the ability to innovate and experience in developing relationships that have resulted in six figure revenue. 
  • Proficiency in prioritizing tasks; ability to think strategically; strong project and time management skills; excellent verbal and written presentation skills; superior interpersonal skills; problem resolution skills 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint specifically.
  • Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
  • May involve lifting and carrying boxes; may involve traveling by car or plane to meetings and training.

  • Up to 30% regional/national travel required
