This role has accountability for fostering regional relationships and removing obstacles, through solution-building, that supports the network to grow fresh produce pounds distributed, equitably and at an optimized cost. Steward grant funding and provide business consultation for the member food banks and regional cooperatives with the purpose of supporting regional produce growth, primarily through leading strategic initiates and opportunities which you co-develop with network leaders and stakeholders.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Create regional business plans and collaborate on identification of regional collaboration models that are clearly documented and communicated to all internal and network stakeholders. Monitor and make recommendations for enhancements as needed.
- Help design, implement and oversee grants (within territory); makes direct funding recommendations reviews progress reports, etc.; provides subject expertise to corporate partnerships and other fundraising teams to support fundraising activities.
- Assess and provide leadership to members to cultivate sourcing capabilities (education, process, tool, strategy, etc.); generally, will not be responsible for direct sourcing but raises operational challenges/bottlenecks to right-level folks and directs approach needed for that region.
- Liaison with network and Feeding America to align local, state or regional sourcing strategies with commodity specific strategy (push model) and assures network engagement with growers/suppliers and constituents.
- Champions network best practices and operational excellence examples; helps guide training course development and other channels for knowledge sharing as relevant.
- Organizes meetings, events and sharing opportunities for stakeholders; maintains routine contact with constituents.
- Participates in produce or other supply chain activities in region.
- Represents Feeding America at relevant internal and external events; engages produce industry to support our cause.
Educational Background:
BA/BS preferred or relevant experience
Skills/Experience:
- MBA or similar preferred

Willing to both lead and provide hands-on support as identified to drive impact of programs and grant stewardship.

Required Technical Competence and Experience
- 10+ years of functional and business experience in multi-stakeholder environment; or equivalent experience in supply chain, relationship management, consulting or customer service role of equivalent complexity.
- 5+ years leading projects/programs with proactive and complex problem-solving.
- Demonstrated excellence in developing business plans and concepts – written, analytical and visual.
- Able to travel within assigned territory between 30 - 60% but also adept at using technology and remote collaboration methods for success when not in front of stakeholders.
- Produce experience preferred but not required.
