Director, Campaign Support, Man & Woman of the Year

Responsible for providing leadership during staff transitions/vacancies and (depending on market need) lead campaign(s) execution during vacancy; as well as, driving growth in assigned key markets by providing strategic direction to RVPs, Executive Directors, and MWOY Staff in assigned chapters/markets. The Director will provide consultation; contribute to performance management of staff; and development of short and long range plans, key drivers and campaign standards for the field. Assist the Product Lead with development of tools, materials and content and may assist in hiring for key MWOY field positions, and provide onboarding and training for new staff. The National MWOY Team is responsible for creating a culture of excellence and achieving LLS’s overall revenue goal for MWOY and the National Campaign Goal.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develops the comprehensive strategic plan for the assigned MWOY campaign markets which includes organization campaign standards, specific revenue, retention and recruitment targets, volunteer leadership development plans, participant cultivation visits/events and communication, budgets, timelines, logistics and marketing for each event/campaign.
  • Partners with chapter staff and EDs (or implements, in the case of staff vacancy/transition) to identify, cultivate and steward LLS/MWOY leadership volunteers/donors/teams/participants by developing MWOY strategies and relationship cultivation activities for successful recruitment, acknowledgement, and retention of volunteers/donors/teams/participants.
  • Intense consultation and support to select markets, including responsibility for ensuring KPI’s are met in the field.
  • Ongoing strategic consultation to RVPs, EDs, and Senior MWOY staff in regards to campaign strategy, staff and volunteer performance, talent hiring and evaluation.
  • Model & Coach organizational campaign standards with regard to recruiting and managing high level volunteers, revenue generation activities, expense and fiscal controls and marketing/promotions and logistics resulting in chapter revenue growth and achievement of revenue goals.
  • Participate in key volunteer field meetings to drive campaign standard outcomes. (Or implement meetings, in the case of staff vacancy/transition)
  • In partnership with the chapter ED, responsible for supervising and training of campaign staff in campaign standards with an emphasis on volunteer development and fundraising, to achieve fundraising goals. (Includes: National development and facilitation of onboarding for newly hired staff.)
  • Identify target audiences and build appropriate recruitment and fundraising strategies to successfully recruit, acknowledge, and retain and upgrade event donors/participants.
  • Partners with EDs and chapter staff to maximize volunteer management and development within assigned chapters/campaigns. Participates in prospecting, recruitment, committee meetings, training, motivation, supervision and evaluation.
  • Provides strategic guidance and participation (or implementation for assigned markets experiencing a staff vacancy) for key events associated with MWOY; including but not limited to preparation for and participation in committee meetings, recruitment/cultivation events, fundraising planning meetings, kickoffs, finales, and wrap-up events.
  • In concert with chapter staff and EDs, develops relationships with key volunteer leadership and fundraising participants to elevate and maximize revenue impact.
  • Produce forecasting and projections reports by evaluating the effectiveness of the on-going fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising efficiency (cost/expense), community engagement, campaign/event satisfaction, and overall success of the campaign.
  • Completes national campaign projects under the direction of the national MWOY product lead as assigned including, but not limited to, national tool development and updates, data collection and analysis, national trainings, etc.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the LLS’s mission and programs to promote LLS’s fundraising, research and patient initiatives. Ensures that the LLS mission is integrated throughout the nation to tie fundraising efforts and results to campaign revenue and volunteer impact.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Non Profit Management or Communication
Skills/Experience: 

Experience Requirements:

  • 6 - 8 years fundraising, sales, marketing, communications, community organization, volunteer development/leadership
  • Previous experience as a Campaign Manager a plus

  • May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events
  • Travel up to 90%
