Analyst - Operational Excellence

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as Analyst - Operational Excellence. Reporting to the Manager - Operational Excellence, this position is responsible for working with the Operational Excellence team to address affiliate financial and other practices and to assess and reduce related risk. Approximately 20% of time will be spent on financial matters and 80% will be spent on other risk areas (such as governance, homeowner services, construction, ReStore operations, and public relations).

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Reviewing affiliate internal controls and safeguards, financial reports, monitoring fiscal compliance to HFHI standards, and working with affiliates to help them improve related policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Performing initial assessments of financial operations, creating related reports for affiliate leadership, and developing related corrective action plans when needed.
  • Implementing, delivering, and supporting affiliate program review/risk assessment work and other interventions to manage risk, identifying and assessing crises, intervening in crises, evaluating and processing complaints, and evaluating success of interventions.
  • Providing coaching and training for affiliates and US field staff in order to help affiliates address problems, manage and prevent crises, manage conflict, and create an atmosphere for success.
  • Collecting, recording, and analyzing data related to risk management and other fieldwork.
  • Collaborating effectively with other departments to ensure successful service delivery to affiliates and to help protect the mission and brand of Habitat for Humanity.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Financial Management and accounting skills and experience.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Habitat for Humanity experience or work experience with similar non-profit organizations.

PREFERRED;

  • Knowledge, skill, and experience related to conflict resolution.
