PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- To provide overall strategic and operational leadership for World Vision West Balkans Sub-Region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Spiritual Leadership:
- Ensure that WV Offices in West Balkans Sub-Region have high quality Christian Commitment strategy and operations plan and they are appropriate for country context;
Ministry Performance:
- Ensure high Ministry quality and high impact on the field by leading in a way that WV Offices in West Balkans sub-region are achieving expected annual targets on sustainable basis in line with strategic priorities.
Strategy, Operating Plan and Long- and Short- Term Targets:
- Ensure that there is documented Sub-Regional strategy, Ministry strategies and operating plans, and the latter have been derived from overall strategy and have clear and measurable short-term and long-term targets; Ensure that Ministry strategies are aligned with Partnership Strategic priorities and Our Promise 2030.
Leadership and Management of West Balkans Sub-Region:
- Promote WV’s Vision, Mission, Core Values and key Partnership Standards and Practices among the staff and partners and ensure they are the core foundation of /the office/ strategies and work.
Advocacy and Representation:
- Represent West Balkans Sub-region, engage and build strategic alliances with the Government of individual countries, boards, major donor agencies, WV Partnership, non-governmental agencies, churches and media.
Financial Management and Financial and Operational Audit Compliance:
- Ensure efficient and effective organizational practices that would result in successful financial and operational audit scores.
Safety and Security, Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain capacity to respond to natural and man-made emergencies.
Compliance and Country Legal Environment:
- Ensure country offices in West Balkans Sub-Region comply with local legal requirements and standards.
MFI Strategic Management:
- As a member/chair of the local MFI boards on countries in West Balkans Sub-Region, ensure that Vision Fund’s micro-finance ministry is integrated with World Vision’s ministry to promote fullness of life for children and their communities.
National Resource Development:
- Explore opportunities and facilitate National Resource Development plan.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required:
- A university degree in management, international development, or related field is required, with a Masters preferred.
Preferred:
- World Vision Experience.
Work Environment:
- The role of the West Balkans National Director requires the ability to work in a post-communist environment having operations spread across three countries. Ability to work in multi-faith and especially Muslim contexts and to engage in interfaith relations and dialogue is essential. Familiarity with diverse Christian denominations and particularly Orthodoxy and Catholism is necessary. Ability to think innovatively and persistently in terms of resource acquisition is critical – considering the local political context.
