Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Grants & Proposals is responsible for the successfully mining, research, writing, reporting and communicating of all aspects of grants in support of the Tampa Y's charitable mission. The director will help establish relationships with various funders, partner agencies, corporations and trust to develop strong and long-lasting community collaborations. The Director of Grants & Proposals will be highly organized with the ability to manage all grant functions to ensure timely submission and compliance while ensuring that required deliverables are consistently met. In addition, the position will work closely with center staff to identify funding opportunities designed to sustain high quality programs and services that meet the needs of the community and act as clearing house for centers writing independent grants. The director will lead the grant oversight committee to ensure grant compliance.
The Director of Grants & Proposals will be responsible for:
- Working with the Chief Development Officer, oversees the timelines for all new/renewing grants across the association ensuring deadlines are met to secure needed funding.
- Develops and maintains relationships with current and potential funding sources, both private and public.
- Directs all grant solicitation and acceptance efforts, working with the Direct Responsible Individual and the accounting department to ensure grant compliance and timely reporting.
- Performing research on grant making organizations to include corporations, family foundations and corporate foundations.
- Writing compelling proposals that display meticulous grammar and spelling.
- Adhering to the guidelines of the Tampa Y's grant writing protocol.
- Analyzing the feasibility of the project's budget.
- Working closely with center staff members to understand the purpose of the grant and programming.
- Working closely with center staff members to identify funding opportunities designed to sustain high quality programs and services that meet the needs of the community.
- Acting as the clearing house for centers writing independent grants.
- Filing reports and budget forms in conjunction with grant requirements.
- Serving on the grant oversight committee to ensure grant compliance.
- Providing support for the Community Impact Dinner, special events and other development events/needs as assigned.
- As needed, provide support to the team by assisting with thank you letters; develop recognition materials (i.e. program pictures, posters from youth, program newsletters, names in annual report) and stewardship reports.
- Supporting the Tampa Y's charitable mission.
- Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing and grant management, with extensive knowledge of grant application processes.
- Ability to adapt and work under pressure in a rapidly changing, deadline driven environment.

- Must obtain within 30 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration.
