The Recovery Program Manager will manage Save the Children’s Hurricane Michael’s early education recovery and resilience programs as we work with community partners to enhance children and caregivers’ bounce back and build back stronger for the next disaster. The Recovery Program Manager will be responsible for partnership and grant agreements, program training, implementation and reporting. The incumbent will work closely with the team leader to develop strong implementation plans, and assist with budget oversight. This position will report to the Associate Director of Florida Recovery Programs.

As a frontline representative of Save the Children, the position holder is required to ensure the safety and protection of children and families that the incumbent comes in contact with and to represent the agency values of Accountability, Ambition, Collaboration, Creativity and Integrity.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Program Management (40%)

  • Manage ongoing assessment of early education and child care sectors in the wake of Hurricane Michael and ensure needs are reflected in program strategy and implementation
  • Manage the overall implementation of interventions related to early education recovery and preparedness programs, including distributions to early education and school partners.
  • Working closely with the finance team, manage the grant process and workflow for early education and community grant recipients ensuring timely communication, execution and reporting.
  • Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure the effective monitoring and evaluation of recovery programs, including projects implemented through partners.

Partnership Management (30%)

  • Manage partnerships with early learning, school and out-of-school time partners support scale up of the program implementation, as aligned with and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the emergency and recovery program.
  • Facilitate partnership agreements and MOUs that ensure quality programming and reporting
  • Identity opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing through local presentations, conferences and working groups.
  • Identify and support local partners to implement preparedness training and programming, and ensure appropriate levels of technical assistance and capacity building is provided to partners.

Training and Capacity Building (30%)

  • Coordinate and deliver local emergency preparedness and resilience trainings and workshops to early education providers
  • Train local partners to, and directly deliver emergency preparedness workshops to children
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with program managers of other technical sectors to ensure integration and delivery of holistic programs to targeted communities.
  • Help prepare timely program and donor reports in compliance with internal SC requirements and any relevant external donor requirements.
  • Coordinate with US Programs Headquarter leads to ensure that all required support needs are identified and technical support is requested based on need.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience project management in early education, partnership management, social work or child protection programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated partner management experience and skills
  • Experience working with other NGOs, early education organizations and coordinating inter-agency activities, developing strategies and information products.
  • Experience of delivering training, presentations and other capacity building activities to varied audiences.
  • Patience, adaptability, flexibility, and ability to improvise and remain responsive and to communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in early education, social work, child protection, psychology or related field in a relevant subject
  • Previous experience delivery disaster recovery or other humanitarian programs
  • Fluency in Spanish, both written and verbal
