The Coordinator, Psychosocial Programs supports the overall delivery of Save the Children’s Psychosocial Programs, including the Journey of Hope (JoH). This position will provide logistical, operational and administrative support for psychosocial program implementation in disaster affected and non-disaster affected scenarios.  The Coordinator, Psychosocial Programs provides program support to the program teams and partners, and the implementing partners specifically.  The Coordinator is responsible for: recording and tracking the weekly and monthly beneficiary information, program expense tracking, ensuring program materials are supplied to partners (kit ordering and monitoring), monitoring program progress and fidelity to curriculum intent, and periodic reporting of the program activities to the Senior Program Specialist.  The Coordinator will be responsible for general support and communication with implementing partners.  In emergency contexts, the Coordinator, Psychosocial Programs is responsible for supporting the immediate needs assessment, partner identification, training, program implementation, ongoing technical support and management of psychosocial programs. This position will be full time, with a duration of one year. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Program Implementation 45%:

Provide support to Psychosocial Programs implementing partners:

  • Assist with building and maintaining relationships with schools, partners and state contacts.
  • Participate in related meetings and conference calls to support the psychosocial program efforts.
  • Help manage periodic program reporting.
  • Manage logistics for program trainings.
  • Manage, compile and input program pre- and post-surveys.
  • Track and report program expenses.
  • Conduct site visits and regular program fidelity checks.
  • Bi-weekly coordination with psychosocial program lead to report on fidelity checks/site visits.
  • Performs other duties as requested by program leadership.

 Partner Operations and Management: 20%

  • Serve as immediate point of contact for implementing partners.
  • Collect and record beneficiary counts and evaluations from partners on a monthly basis. Input beneficiaries into Save the Children’s beneficiary tracking system.
  • Order, assemble, and distribute additional program kit materials to partners as needed.

Program support to new response and recovery programs: 10%

  • Deploy to new responses as needed to conduct needs assessments related to child wellbeing and psychosocial supports.

Professional Development: 10%

  • Participate in Save the Children calls, meetings, and trainings.
  • Stay current on relevant national standards and best practices
  • Share knowledge and experience with the national program team and colleagues.
  • Participate in national program team projects and USP work groups.

Operations Support: 10%

  • Provide operational and administrative support to the program as required to ensure the smooth running of the program, to include such things as travel and hotel arrangements, ordering of office supplies and equipment, and arranging events as needed. (i.e. for out of town site visits, etc.)

Other:  5%

  • Work in collaboration with USP teams e.g., Early Childhood; National Directorate; Technology, Monitoring and Evaluation; Sponsorship; Policy and Advocacy; Resource Development; Marketing, Communications, and Media).
  • Provide stories from the field to national staff.
  • Support, and contribute as appropriate and requested, to Save the Children priorities and initiatives.
Educational Background: 
High School through Associate Degree or Technical/Vocational Degree
Skills/Experience: 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, 2-3 years of relative experience
  • Experience working in or with school systems
  • Willingness to travel extensively in the state or region and nationally as needed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity as a team player and relationship builder

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or related field
  • Knowledge of and experience with literacy programs
  • Demonstrated organizational and management skills related to program implementation
  • Experience developing and delivering training and technical assistance in-person and remotely
  • Proven experience working effectively with limited-resource communities
  • Working knowledge of financial and subgrant management
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to dynamic changes in the work environment
