Areas of Responsibility:

Core Areas of Responsibility:
• Develop a children’s ministry strategy to serve children (currently comprising birth through 5th grade) and partner with families in collaboration with SBCC leadership

Skills/Experience:

Requirements:
• Resourcefulness — we’re a young church with a lot of work to do, and often that means coming up with solutions from scratch

• Education and experience — the ideal applicant will have a degree in early childhood education or children’s ministry, with some experience in a church context, like volunteering in a leadership capacity or interning. Because we serve a city with a diverse population, multicultural life background or work experience is especially important.
• Technological aptitude — you don’t need to be an IT whiz or gear geek, but we pretty much live in Slack, Google docs, and Planning Center, and we work remotely. If you feel comfortable getting the job done on your smart phone and computer, you’ll fit right in.

About Us
Mission:

South Bend City Church began in 2016 when a core group started meeting and dreaming about a new Jesus-centered community. Our dream was to build a place for believers and doubters, where we can ask difficult questions and wrestle with the tensions of ancient faith in a modern world; a community that values simplicity and spiritual practices in our life together; and a church that’s deeply connected to the city we love. That dream has become a reality as we’ve moved into a home in South Bend’s historic Studebaker factory. We’re located in a diverse neighborhood in the heart of our city, and we’ve formed a
community of 400-500 people gathering each week. We’re an independent, non-denominational church. We trust the Bible as it points us to Jesus, and we trust the Apostles’ Creed as a guiding interpretation of what it teaches.
We believe that diversity among our leadership team is critical to our work as a community of faith, and we seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. To learn more about us, visit southbendcitychurch.com.
