Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity (RVHFH) is seeking a creative, dedicated ReStore Manager for the opening and daily operations of a new ReStore, scheduled to open in 2018, in Somerset County in New Jersey. The ReStore mission is to generate revenue through the sale of donated building materials and household items to support the RVHFH operating budget.

Through its efforts, the ReStore facilitates recycling, minimizes landfill waste, provides low-cost home improvement items to the general public, and increases Habitat’s visibility in the community.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The ReStore Manager is responsible for the overall management of the ReStore’s day-to-day operations, playing an active role in planning for the ReStore’s future, and for representing the ReStore at public and corporate events
Educational Background: 
BS or BA degree, preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 3 years responsible retail, merchandising or sales management experience
  • Demonstrate ability to lead, train, and manage staff and volunteers in a positive and safe manner
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, and construction materials
  • Demonstrate competent financial and budget management skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Proven record of positive customer relations service
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Adaptability . . . . A quick, sound and positive decision maker in rapidly changing conditions; anticipating, addressing and solving problems
  • Basic computer skills, including MS office, Excel, social media and related marketing software
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds. Work may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, and reaching, in awkward and challenging positions
