Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a service oriented professional to join our newest ReStore team as an Associate in Smyrna. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and accepting payments for the purchase of items, answering general questions about the store and its merchandise, welcoming customers to the store and assisting customers. This position is located at our Smyrna ReStore in Smyrna, Georgia.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Operate a cash register to document sale of merchandise
- Process cash, credit card and check transactions
- Maintain and balance cash drawer at the end of each day
- Greet customers, answer questions and provide assistance as needed
- Answer telephone and provide store information, directions, etc. to callers
- Maintain orderly and clean purchase and showroom areas
- Apply pricing stickers to merchandise following pricing procedures
- Direct pricing and operation questions to Store Manager or designated staff
- Regularly communicate with Store Manger regarding sales issues and problems
- Recommend new/better methods of completing assigned tasks as needed
Educational Background:
High School diploma or equivalent
Skills/Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in Retail and/or Customer Service
- Familiar with computer technology related to Point of Sale retail systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self starter with the ability to respond to high standards of customer satisfaction
- Reasonable familiarity with building materials
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, squat, bend and stand for extended periods
