The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning and execution of large, complex, and or strategically significant projects or programs supporting improvements and change across business processes, IT’s enterprise -wide technology services, teams and functions.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Project Management

  • Lead full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously by leading project team members and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure projects deliver the expected scope and business value, complete on budget and on schedule.
    • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
    • Bring a general understanding of data; flow, quality, governance.
    • Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline
    • Monitor, track and resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
    • Champion a focus on iterative delivery of business value where feasible

Problem-solving and process improvement

  • Work creatively and analytically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Assess project needs and apply the appropriate toolset and methodology (Scrum, Scrumban, Waterfall, or a hybrid), demonstrating functional acumen
  • Model a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring retrospectives result in action, and by adjusting processes where/when waste is avoidable
  • Collaborates with Technology division leaders and team members to identify and implement opportunities for streamlining IT enterprise processes to increase efficiency.  
  • Compares actual performance with planned performance, analyzes variances, assesses trends to effect process improvements, evaluates possible alternatives, and implements appropriate corrective action if needed to continuously improve programs and processes.

Meeting facilitation and team-building

  • Lead effective, engaging meetings including planning sessions, estimation activities, retrospectives, and other project team meetings drawing from a variety of facilitation techniques
  • Create positive team culture of shared ownership, gratitude motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to project milestones

Reporting and Communication

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, executive leadership and key stakeholders
  • Inform communications based on a close understanding of interdependencies among technology, operations and business needs
  • Define success criteria including milestones, process measures, and outcome measures to inform project health.  Use common project management tools for reporting progress and variance. 
  • Compose, execute, and manage project-related communication plans, identifying key audiences and messages.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s or other advanced degree with 7+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated agile delivery and scrum master experience
  • Complex critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning through implementation skillset.
  • Process design experience and demonstrated systems thinker.
  • Continuous improvement frameworks and methods.
  • Strong collaboration, communication and influencing skills, including with senior executives and leaders.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Planner, Visio, Jira, SharePoint preferred.
