The Innovative Technology Solutions team is looking for an experienced professional to lead our work in diagnostic development, with a primary focus on developing protein-based diagnostics for foundation priority diseases. The role will require working with a range of technical and scientific partners, government agencies, and other organizations in the public and private sector.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Design and lead the development novel diagnostics tools for foundation priority diseases, including internal coordination with program strategies and external management of partners.
- Scope, shape and manage a portfolio of activities and investments to support strategy implementation.
- Develop investments with clear, measurable outcomes and milestones.
- Actively manage the underlying relationships with grantees, vendors, and partners.
- Analyze and synthesize lessons and results to inform and improve the overall diagnostics strategy.
- Identify and cultivate partners in support of program work; manage partnerships to achieve impact.
- Attend conferences and meetings, both internal and external, to represent ITS as well as act as a foundation representative.
Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 20 years of private sector experience in protein diagnostics development (focus on lateral flow immunoassays) in a stringently regulated environment.
- Strong project management, sound technical judgment and track record of success in leading strategic initiatives in global, matrixed organization
- Highly agile leader with proven ability influence data-driven strategy planning and implementation.
- Ability to manage, organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Experience in key geographies (including Sub-Saharan Africa and India) preferred.
- Innovative and collaborative problem solver.
- Demonstrated ability to work and lead with efficiency, diplomacy, and flexibility particularly as part of a team effort. Experience in working on teams with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills, and experience advocating and communicating with a broad and diverse audience.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
