The senior community manager will lead the Goalkeepers Community work, being the key point of contact for the community members. This community is small and global – it will eventually span about 1,000 members in 8 countries around Europe, US, Africa and Asia. The role is to support the existing members of the community (curating informal events such as dinners, workshops, brainstorms; as well as more formal programs such as regional staged events of 150+ people); managing online community engagement; connecting them with foundation grantees and partners, influencers or decision-makers; communicating their work to others in the community and more broadly) as well as working alongside our partner, Project Everyone (based in London) to identify and bring on board new members of the community.
The community is a mix of emerging and established leaders, but our focus for community engagement is primarily the younger, emerging leaders, where we believe that our support (giving them access to decision makers, peer connections and experiences; communications/promotional support) will help elevate them as stronger, more effective champions, who can accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
You will report to the overall lead for Goalkeepers and will join a broader Goalkeepers team that produces the Goalkeepers data report, campaign, event, and accelerators (funding/partnerships). It is expected that this role will coordinate with the other workstream leads, and ensure that the Goalkeepers Community strategy is aligned with the overall Goalkeepers strategy and deliverables across each workstream.
