JOB OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Senior Development Director, the Membership and Fundraising Manager is part of a five-person development team.  This position is primarily responsible for administering Cascade’s membership program and serving as the lead for the organizations two event fundraisers -- our annual breakfast and a new live auction event. In addition the Membership and Fundraising Manager is responsible for upkeep and administrative data management of the membership and development portions of Cascade’s CRM database - Salesforce.

 

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The membership & development team fosters vital relationships with corporate partners, individuals, and foundations allowing Cascade to run our educational programs and fulfill our mission of Improving Lives Through Bicycling with a vision of Bicycling for All. The five-person team has measurable individual goals and works collaboratively to ensure Cascade meets overall revenue goals.

Areas of Responsibility: 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Program Management (70%)

  • Analyze membership base to inform strategies to increase membership growth and retention to increase member engagement in Cascade Bicycle Club (CBC) activities including: rides, events, education, advocacy, volunteerism and giving. 
  • Design and implement marketing campaigns to achieve membership growth and increase membership retention rate. 
  • Conduct mailing lists and content message testing through multiple mediums. 
  • Track and analyze acquisition and renewal campaign results. 
  • Manage membership database including data entry, lists and reporting. 
  • Manage all member fulfillment processes including new member welcome packets, renewal messages, incentive mailings, gift memberships, etc. 
  • Serve as primary contact for members and respond to member inquiries in person, over phone and online. 
  • Manage volunteers who support the membership program through data entry, mailings, events, phone calling and other activities. 
  • Manage member benefits program. 
  • Plan the Annual Membership meeting.
  • Assist in conducting market research and member surveys. 
  • Assist in preparing and managing of department budget. 
  • Attend and procure outreach opportunities for engagement and new acquisition. 

Fundraising Events (30%)

  • Work with Senior Director to execute event strategy and logistics for Cascade’s annual Bike Everywhere Breakfast and new Fall auction event.
  • Creating and maintaining invite lists; liaising with event venues, ensuring event expenses stay within budget; and on the day management of event 
  • Attend fundraisers on behalf of the department to increase engagement. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years applicable experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to plan ahead, meet deadlines and goals while simultaneously managing multiple projects.
  • Willingness and availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as project deadlines and events dictate. 


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools, certification a plus.
  • Experience supporting racial, health, mobility, and/or environmental equity and justice programs and outcomes.
  • Previous event experience.
  • Interest in or passion for the bicycling industry and cycling community.

 

SALARY RANGE:
$52,000-$57,000 annually. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Due to the large-scale nature of events and their importance to the fiscal well being of Cascade and WA Bikes, staff members are required to work several events a year, a mix of mandatory all-hands events and choice events. This position may also require some evening and weekend work.
