S/he will serve as the primary recruiting consultant, working closely with the divisional executive teams and collaborating with other HR colleagues, to support the foundation’s strategic objectives by advocating and presenting our unique value proposition to attract and hire a diverse group of talented individuals and leaders from around the world to contribute the foundation’s mission. S/he will be personally responsible for the development, management and execution of sourcing and research strategies to identify, manage and cultivate a talent pool of leadership, senior level and highly specialized technical candidates at all levels in the foundation.
- Partner with the divisional executive team, hiring managers and other key stakeholders to develop, drive and execute on talent strategies designed to diversify and expand the talent pipeline with an uncompromising focus on hiring for desired culture.
- Engage key stakeholders in strategy discussions, hiring meetings, headcount planning sessions, etc. to develop a deep understanding of each client’s position requirements/work needs to map role criteria, define position descriptions and document specifications.
- Consult and advise stakeholders regarding strategic hiring decisions, headcount planning, and organizational development by providing talent insights, landscape data, competitive intelligence, and strategic analysis of the recruiting landscape.
- Lead and creatively execute against specific recruiting strategies, typically in collaboration with other recruiting resources and experts, related to talent identification, candidate development, interviewing and selection; including overseeing the offer/negotiation process with finalists.
- Partner with divisional leadership team to prioritize recruitments.
- Source, attract, asses and hire talent on a global level by conducting planful and targeted research, outreach, networking and relationship development in creative and novel ways that reinforces our values and helps us to achieve the desired culture.
- Prioritize candidate engagement and leverage innovative, unique and/or unconventional marketing strategies focused on building forward-looking and passive candidate pipelines with the goal to:
- Manifest a differentiating employee value proposition in an extremely competitive talent market.
- Target broad and diverse communication channels looking to uniquely engage and attract the talent we seek.
- By leveraging your expertise and relationships within the adjacent functional communities, develop a slate of diverse, interested, committed, and qualified candidates.
- Have candidates experience a human-touch throughout their engagement with the foundation; leaving with a feeling of being appreciated and ‘seen’.
- Create ambassadors for the foundation; regardless of outcome, have candidates feel their time was well spent and participation was worthwhile.
- Follow project management framework to organize, manage, track and report on data related to recruitment engagements, while maintaining service levels, data integrity, and information sharing.
- Provide clear direction to researchers, sourcing partners and external search partners.
- Communicate status regularly to recruiting contact(s) and/or hiring manager(s) throughout the recruiting process. Proactively identify issues and solicit feedback to ensure that each search is on target and that service level agreements are being met in terms of turnaround timeframes and deliverables.
- Monitor and seek feedback to continuously improve candidate and hiring manager experience while proactively raising concerns regarding issues related to service delivery and/or delivery against individual goals.
- Lead in broad team/recruiting projects to develop best-in-class recruiting services and products and to identify opportunities to coordinate with cross-foundation hiring efforts to maximize efficiencies and impact.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues, both internal to the foundation, to ensure quality, efficient and successful recruiting outcomes in service of the foundation.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the philanthropic sector (Global Health, Global Development, Policy and Advocacy, US Education) by developing a perspective on the competitive landscape, understanding market influences, staying current with news and events, and explaining relevant trends.

Experience
- The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong business acumen with client-orientation and relationship management experience; including the ability to influence and contract with senior-level executives as well as highly technical specialists.
- Expert level passive candidate engagement, networking and conversation abilities.
- Strong assessment skills required in order to accurately determine suitability for talent needs; including assessing for culture and emotional intelligence.
- Focus on action and outcomes with an ability to generate high-quality pipeline of candidates under tight timelines. Experience with a wide range of sourcing and data mining techniques.
- Experience identifying, defining, developing and experimenting with new programs, tools, technologies and processes in support of recruiting needs in an ever-changing philanthropic environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and an understanding of how to navigate and operate within a complex, matrixed environment. At the same time, having the ability to work independently and develop creative solutions to a wide-ranging set of recruiting and business opportunities.
- Intellectual quickness, curiosity, discipline, resourcefulness and resilience.
- Strong judgment with a demonstrated ability to handle complex issues, multiple tasks, confidential information, and competing priorities with skill, discretion, a strong attention to detail, flexibility and diplomacy.
- Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills. S/he must possess strong relationship management skills to build trusting and productive relationships with a wide range of colleagues, leaders, consultants and other partners.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills; including experience advocating and communicating with a broad and diverse audience.
- 10+ years of professional recruiting experience required; preferably gained from an in-house recruiting role or relevant executive search firm experience. A minimum of two plus years’ experience with executive level recruitment (C-level searches) across a range of fields.
- A clearly articulated desire and commitment of shared accountability to identify and land the best talent to achieve the foundation’s vision and desired culture.
- Healthy sense of humor preferred.
