An integral part of the Development Team and reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Annual Fund/Event Manager is responsible to advance the YMCA’s mission as project manager of the annual giving program and sporadic, smaller fundraising campaigns. This position also coordinates logistics for all special events.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages the year-long, Annual Fund Campaign to ensure the goal of the campaign is met
- In conjunction with the marketing department and/or outsourced agency, conceptualizes, recommends positioning and packaging, designs campaign collateral material and writes direct mail, website and digital and social media copy
- Creates, manages and executes a year-long, multi-platform timeline and budget
- Organizes volunteers and trains branch staff in conjunction with branch leadership
- Implements special events in conjunction with branch staff and leadership
- Monitors campaign, providing data analysis and reporting on a regular basis
- Assists with moves management strategies to increase donor giving
- Coordinates logistics for all special events, including, but not limited to:
- The YMCA’s annual Going for the Gold (in conjunction with outsourced event planner)
- Circle of Champions annual cocktail party
- Wine and Y series events
- Events associated with the Annual Fund Campaign
- Attends YMCA development events
- Assists in the creation of the annual (impact) report, newsletters, brochures and reports
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Development Officer
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of marketing/development experience in annual giving, including campaign integration across direct mail, digital and social media platforms.
- Experience working with database management systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, Mail Chimp and websites
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and project management skills
- Adept at working collaboratively with marketing, branch and development staff to create interpretive materials that engage and inspire donors to give
- Ability to multi-task and remain flexible while experiencing frequent interruption
- Fanatical attention to detail; intensely organized
- Ability to meet goals and deadlines
- Comfort with budgets and financial reporting
- Keen sense of curiosity and initiative; motivated to succeed

- Ability to work nights and weekends
