Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Center, Youth Fitness Center, Group Exercise programs, Personal Training and fitness related programs following prudent programming principles within the parameters of the Sarasota Family YMCA, Inc.  Make connections between the Mission of the Y and the community as well as its members.  Oversee Personal Training as well as Wellness Special Events .  Assist Executive in directing Annual Support Campaign. Must demonstrate the ability to operate within budget guidelines and proven YMCA management practices.

Educational Background: 
A.A. or B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education or related field preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Possess YMCA or other related certification in fitness and a minimum of five years previous experience in a fitness environment along with a minimum of two years of previous supervisory experience.  
  • Preferred to have personal training and group exercise experience and certifications. Experience managing large staff volume needed.

Required Certifications

  • NASM or ACSM Certification preferred
