The Senior Coordinator Preparedness Training will support the recovery, resilience and preparedness work of Save the Children’s Hurricane Maria response. The Preparedness Training Senior Coordinator will coordinate and support implementation of Save the Children’s emergency and disaster preparedness training programs for schools, partner organizations, child care centers and community groups. S/He will join other Program Coordinators to directly delivery trainings to these groups. Working closely with the Community Engagement Coordinators, the Senior Coordinator Preparedness Training will organize and support capacity building initiatives for civil society and community groups. S/He will help to coordinate the administration and monitoring of sub-grant funding to community based organizations to implement child-focused recovery, resilience and preparedness activities and projects. S/He will coordinate all procurement and administrative requirements resilience and preparedness programs of Save the Children.
- Coordinate with partner organizations, state/municipal level partners and community and other child-focused community partners, to schedule, plan and implement Save the Children's emergency preparedness and resilience resources, trainings and programs.
- Support and deliver train-the-trainer sessions or/and caregiver/teacher-level training of Save the Children's Preparedness Programs including the Prep Rally, The Unique Needs of Children, and Helping Children Cope with Crises and Helping Caregivers Recover: Self-Care.
- Coordinate procurement and organization of all training materials, including Prep Rally “Go-Bags” required for Save the Children emergency preparedness trainings – including direct and partner lead.
- Support administration of sub-grants to community-based organization including review, tracking and processing of sub-grant requirements, financial and procurement processes, and reporting requirements.
- With Community Engagement Coordinators, develop training material and deliver capacity building and support to community based organizations on Save the Children sub-grant processes
- Serve as point of contact with communities for use of vouchers with pre-approved suppliers of play and recreational materials.
- Assist monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for all resilience programs as required.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of work experience, including experience in training and capacity building
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent English and Spanish communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Resource management, training, capacity building, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Willingness to work and travel to challenging and remote environment and requirements.
- Strong people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas.
- Ability to meet government and federal agencies requirements for working with children.
- Good analytical skills.
