Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Procurement Manager. This position is key in managing the process of effective and cost-effective procurement of resources and material in support of the programmatic and operational activities of HFHI Puerto Rico Disaster Response. The position will be based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Create and maintain approved vendor list
  • Supervise and coordinate workflow for Procurement Assistant
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with procurement and delegation of authority organizational policies
  • Comply with specifications of materials and resources being requested
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, including meeting all deadlines and undertaking transparent negotiations
  • Recommend approval for vendor bids and organize the bidding process
  • In conjunction with Director, Finance & Administration, develop procurement procedures aligned with HFHI policy
  • Work closely with warehouse and programs staff to accurately schedule procurement and storage
  • Manage the customs and regulations process
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years of professional related experience
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly changing and difficult environment of a post disaster context
  • Ability to communicate with and influence senior management
  • 5 years of experience with international sales and procurement, including experience with customs and import/export

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Disaster Response projects
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working in an international organization, preferably in an NGO
