The National office of the Alzheimer's Association is currently seeking experienced part-time fundraising specialists to join our Intermediate Gifts team. This team will establish relationships with Alzheimer's Association donors through daily telephone contact to cultivate and qualify as potential intermediate, major or planned giving prospects.
This is a part time, benefit eligible position working 24 hrs per week and is remote/work from home based.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Establish personal donor contact with an assigned portfolio of mid-level donors as well as prospects delivered by the Prospect Delivery system via telephone
- Work with major gift officers located in assigned regions to consistently qualify potential major or planned giving prospects to maximize the income from the regions as a whole
- Provide accurate and detailed documentation of calls using the Prospect Delivery system to ensure continuous and comprehensive assessment of donor needs and interests
- Ensure accurate and timely transfer of donor requests for information to appropriate departments to resolve issues
- Stay current regarding Alzheimer's Association news through research and conference calls with fellow peers
Educational Background:
College degree or the equivalent of education and experience
Skills/Experience:
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of successful fundraising experience for a nonprofit or charitable organization, or equivalent
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and to work in home-based setting with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on the telephone
- Displays competency in the core competencies necessary to fulfill the position:
- Ability to focus on learning about the Alzheimer's Association to be able to communicate clearly and effectively the mission, vision and accomplishments of the Association.
- Ability to identify donor interest and capacity to create a vision that matches and raises those interests and capacity
- Ability to cultivate relationships with donors that lead to increasing levels of interest, involvement and investment
- Ability to manage donors across a large geographic territory. Management duties include:
- Weekly, monthly and annual planning for donor contact and cultivation
- Administrative duties that provide essential communication of information between peers, supervisor and National staff.
- Ability to work as a team with capacity to work with great effectiveness with other fundraising colleagues and team members.
- Possess above average communication, persuasion, listening and presentation skills.
- Must have a pleasant and outgoing demeanor, be a self-motivator.
