The Managing Director of Individual Giving serves as the leader for Teach For America’s largest development stream, shaping vision and driving campaigns to reach our total annual funding goal of $15+ million.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Reporting directly to the Head of External Affairs, you will be charged with crafting a strategy and managing the execution of a three-person team towards: 

  • Raising over $6.5 million from individual funders in FY18; and 
  • Retaining, upgrading, and diversifying our base of donors to help ensure that we meet our programmatic and financial goals over the long term. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 

Prior Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience, including 2-3 years of development experience 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of management experience 
  • Experience with major donors strongly preferred, and experience working with and managing board members a plus 
  • Knowledge of education/passion for education reform 

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and InDesign preferred but not required

Work Demands 

  • Some weekend and evening work required 
  • Ability to travel around the Bay Area
