The Managing Director of Individual Giving serves as the leader for Teach For America’s largest development stream, shaping vision and driving campaigns to reach our total annual funding goal of $15+ million.
Areas of Responsibility:
Reporting directly to the Head of External Affairs, you will be charged with crafting a strategy and managing the execution of a three-person team towards:
- Raising over $6.5 million from individual funders in FY18; and
- Retaining, upgrading, and diversifying our base of donors to help ensure that we meet our programmatic and financial goals over the long term.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience:
Prior Experience
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience, including 2-3 years of development experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of management experience
- Experience with major donors strongly preferred, and experience working with and managing board members a plus
- Knowledge of education/passion for education reform
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
- Knowledge of Salesforce and InDesign preferred but not required
Work Demands
- Some weekend and evening work required
- Ability to travel around the Bay Area
