This position, located in San Antonio OR Corpus Christi, organizes community
education, volunteer training and diversity outreach, facilitates support
services, and oversees the collection of information needed for timely and
accurate provision of services.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Recruit and train volunteers to deliver general education programs to families as well as
- professional caregivers (including scheduling, organizing, managing and
- evaluation) in San Antonio and Chapter counties.
- Recruit and train volunteers for diversity outreach, focusing on Hispanic Outreach.
- Schedule and oversee educational conferences in service areas such as Laredo, Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley and assist Program Director with San Antonio Summit.
- Provide training and oversight for Programs, Support Groups and Community Presenter volunteers.
- Oversee and master the Personify database of constituents, keeping events and participants up to date.
- Establish key partnerships in South Texas/Rio Grande Valley areas for volunteer recruitment and outreach.
- Oversee updating the education event calendar to distribute throughout the Chapter.
- Provide Contact Center and Helpline back-up as needed.
- Provide monthly data and statistical reports to Director of Programs.
- Other program duties as required.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in health care management, social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, gerontology or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Skills/Experience:
- 1-3 years experience implementing and delivering community programs.
- 1-3 years experience working in Alzheimer's or dementia field preferred.
- Experience recruiting and training volunteers.
- Experience in training and instructional presentations.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
