Education Program Coordinator
Areas of Responsibility:
- Performs all duties of an Educator II;
- Provides technical assistance to program staff including orientation, training and coaching of educators, outreach workers, peer educators, and volunteers in cooperation with the RPM;
- Identifies and participates in state and local collaboratives and task forces that address sexuality education, teen pregnancy prevention and related issues;
- Establishes and enhances relationships in the community and within school systems which facilitate access and referrals to Planned Parenthood programs and services; Primary focus will be creating relationships with the communities in expansion areas;
- Develops and prepares grant proposals in conjunction with the Director of Education Services and Regional Program Managers;
- Develops and prepares program reports in conjunction with the Director of Education Services and Regional Program Manager as needed;
- Responsible for communications between the Education Department and other departments within the region, such as Marketing, Development, Volunteer Services, and Health Centers to promote support of programming;
- Works in collaboration with Health Center Managers and RPM in planning department’s objectives for annual and strategic plans, with an emphasis on promoting community partnerships and services to adolescents.
- Represents the department’s programs and the agency in the community.
- Identifies and participates in community coalitions as assigned.
- Provides educational/in-service training support to other departments within this agency.
- Represents department on agency-wide committees and at other sites within PPMM.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Education, Psychology, Counseling or a related field or related work experience
Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of 3+ years of work experience in community outreach or as Health Educator.
- Experience in managing multiple assignments and/ or projects.
- Strong work ethic.
- High energy and demonstrated creativity.
- Knowledge and ties to communities within Fresno County.
- Successful grant writing experience.
- Bilingual-Bicultural, preferred.
