The Senior Director, Corporate Healthcare Partnerships reports directly to the Senior Vice President Healthcare Partnerships and is based in our corporate office in Rye Brook, New York.  LLS is seeking a Senior Director, Corporate Healthcare Partnerships who will have a key role in managing and implementing the healthcare partnerships fundraising strategy to drive revenue expansion that will realize LLS’ mission of curing blood cancer. The Senior Director will be a development professional with proven fundraising success and the ability to drive significant revenue that meets the organization’s healthcare fundraising goals.

Areas of Responsibility: 

This position is responsible for prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding support from corporate healthcare partners including but not limited to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, medical device companies, insurers/payers, specialty pharmacies, and health/hospital systems to successfully develop and secure strategic business partnerships/relationships that result in substantial funding. This individual will create numerous, efficient and compelling opportunities for healthcare partners to support LLS and to make the experience of giving and partnering satisfying and rewarding. This individual manages fundraising strategies, creates proposals to meet partner’s intention, while meeting the needs and funding priorities of the LLS organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of an annual healthcare development plan for new and existing healthcare partners
  • Oversee research, prospecting, solicitation, and stewardship processes and identify opportunities for new funding stream
  • Support SVP, Healthcare Partnerships in managing LLS’ overall healthcare partnership efforts goals to raise $70M annually
  • Manage a portfolio of existing and new healthcare prospects and is required to generate six and seven figure commitments from healthcare partners. All partnerships must be relevant and adhere to strategic priorities and LLS’ fair/balanced corporate policies
  • Help deepen, refine and communicate the messaging about LLS’ impact and mission to top prospects and networks who can support LLS.
  • Engage staff and volunteers in the cultivation of top prospective healthcare funding sources.
  • Work collaboratively with, mission, campaign teams and donor development to generate new business/sponsorship opportunities and other means to expand LLS’s fundraising abilities to fund its mission.
  • Collaborate with the donor development and campaign teams to ensure that sponsorship deliverables and healthcare donor benefits are fulfilled, according to commitment agreements.
  • Preserve, cultivate and elevate LLS’s status and reputation via the development and/or integration of appropriate policies and processes for effectively working with healthcare industry partners.
  • Other duties as assigned with Pharma grants team and/or Principal Corporate Officer.
Educational Background: 
Master’s or other advanced degree preferred in relevant disciplines preferred.
Skills/Experience: 

Experience Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of non-profit fundraising experience and/or corporate social responsibility, philanthropic giving or advocacy background experience.
  • 5+ years of development.

Position Requirements: 

  • Exceptional ability to build strong and long-term relationships with all types of donor entities, primarily healthcare related companies and institutions.
  • Demonstrated and proven track record of success and experience in non-profit management with an emphasis on fundraising, planning, relationship management, organizational development, problem solving.
  • Proven track record of effectively leading and scaling a successful National fundraising program.
  • Ability to point to specific examples of having driven fundraising strategies that have elevated an organization to the next stage of growth.
