Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia, Inc., an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an ecumenical Christian affordable housing ministry located in Roswell, Georgia. Our current Director of Finance is retiring in the fall, and we are looking to hire her successor as soon as possible in order to provide a reasonable training period for the successful candidate. The position is full-time with flex-hours possible; the salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities and duties include:

Areas of Responsibility: 

Accounts Payable

  • Review coding and enter approved construction invoices; review vendor statements and remedy account issues; and ensure vendor discounts are being taken
  • Initiate weekly check runs
  • Match invoices to checks
  • Distribute checks to vendors
  • Create and maintain vendor files with volunteer assistance
  • Process all automated and credit card transactions
  • Coordinate account payable vendor information for annual worker’s compensation audit
  • Create required audit schedules and pull documents as required for annual audit
  • Provide information to CPA to produce annual 1099s, then distribute to vendors and IRS

Accounts Receivable

  • Record house sponsorships and grants receivable and payments related to these receivables
  • Provide receivables aging reports on sponsorships as requested.
  • Cash and Donation Management
  • Process mortgage and donation receipts
  • Process bank deposits
  • Record gifts in-kind
  • Record automated deposits
  • Cash management: create ACH mortgage batches
  • Cash management: weekly create and upload list of checks paid; daily monitor for issues with checks processed, making decisions on payment as appropriate
  • Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Provide annual audit and 990 informational tax return donations schedules
  • Work with development staff by providing weekly updates of cash received

Mortgage Servicing

  • Process homeowner mortgage receipts and escrow payments
  • Work with homeowners to develop payment plans for shortages and delinquencies
  • Review and enter all escrow invoices to include homeowner’s insurance, termite bond, HOA dues and property taxes
  • Prepare and distribute all past due notices; send appropriate information to attorney for foreclosures and bankruptcies
  • Report monthly to credit bureaus
  • Prepare annual escrow statements
  • Prepare amortization schedule for annual audit

Other

  • Process payroll weekly
  • Prepare annual insurance applications
  • Work with vendor to secure and provide employee health insurance options
  • Keep insurance coverage current to include adding/deleting properties and drivers
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented; team-player; proficient in QuickBooks, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; comfortable in a faith-based environment; and a passion for Habitat’s mission.
