The American Heart Association (AHA) has a great opportunity for a Receptionist at the National Engagement Center in Richardson, TX.

The Receptionist is responsible for creating an American Heart Association (AHA) customer centric environment that reflects a high level of professionalism, integrity, approachability and warmth by building and nurturing quality relationships with all AHA customers, staff, volunteers and vendors. This position provides customer support by responding to telephone inquiries and walk-in visitors at the front desk of the National Engagement Center.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as facility receptionist, greeting walk-in customers and managing the in-take of guests to the National Engagement Center.
  • Oversee the National Engagement Center’ s reception area and front desk by creating a positive and upbeat lobby environment for staff and visitors.
  • Manage calls that route through the front desk for National Center.
  • Inform staff in a timely manner of all guests and deliveries.
  • Update Receptionist Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for current accuracy.
  • Acts as back-up to the Project Coordinator, Operations position.
  • Perform other clerical/administrative duties as needed.
  • Utilize multiple computer programs in order to fulfill customer requests daily.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Receptionist type role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills (courteous, compassionate, professional verbiage and tone, empathy, proper grammar, etc.
  • Establish relationships and communicate with all levels of management including executive staff.
  • Knowledge of phone etiquette and familiarity with operating a multi-line console.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and internet navigation.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining customer focus with confidence and professionalism.
  • Functions in a team environment; superior listening skills; adept at probing and questioning to uncover caller’s underlying needs in a sensitive manner.
  • Independent, self-starter with exceptional time management skills.
  • Able to work independently, demonstrate sound decision-making while following departmental, organization and contractual guidelines.
  • Demonstrate competence and success in prior jobs, proven team player, and personal integrity are absolute requirements.
  • Professional etiquette and appearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Database a plus.
