Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. This is our mission at Make-A-Wish America. The Web Developer II is a key contributor by conceptualizing, designing, and maintaining the Web development platform and web-related projects.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages, maintains and supports the Make-A-Wish Luminate Online Platform.
- Serves as lead developer on Luminate Online platform, and interacts with internal and external clients
- Provides secondary support for other Make-A-Wish Content Management Systems and web-based applications.
- Acts as liaison with vendors, and routinely works with business users to ensure quality data and system management in support of email, donation forms, peer to peer, and event campaigns.
- Translates business requirements into technical specifications.
- Oversees the implementation and testing of enhancements to the platform.
- Confers with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or select solution enhancements.
- Evaluates code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
- Maintains understanding of current technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
- Incorporates technical considerations into site design plans, such as budgets, equipment, performance requirements, security, or legal issues including accessibility and privacy.
- Design and develop software applications, project prototypes, proofs of concept & client demos
- Provide Tier 3 support to chapters and business
- Review and debug code
- Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
Educational Background:
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or possess equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience:
- Demonstrated successful development and implementation of new technologies and work processes.
- Proficiency in project management, research and data analysis, program delivery, and business planning.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Engage effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
- Organize work, prioritize, and delegate to meet deadlines, and make timely decisions with sound judgment.
- Prior experience with Blackbaud products including Team Raiser and Luminate Online
- 5+ years HTML, JavaScript, CSS experience
- Strong knowledge and working experience in QA and UAT
- Experience working with REST APIs.
- Proven history of self-direction and ability to carry out assignments from beginning to end
- Analytical thinker, problem solver with high attention to detail
- Professional demeanor and adaptable to change
Working Conditions:
- Work in both an office and virtual office environment.
- May require work outside a traditional Monday – Friday work week, and outside normal business hours.
