Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. This is our mission at Make-A-Wish America. The Web Developer II is a key contributor to the mission by conceptualizing, designing, and maintaining the Web development platform and web-related projects. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintains and manages enterprise Web development platform (CMS).
  • Serves as lead programmer, acts as liaison with clients, and routinely works with graphic designers to develop complete web-based solutions.
  • Defines objectives, gathers information and translates into technical specifications, and create custom web solutions and functionality for end users.
  • Designs, creates, and maintains internal Web-based applications.
  • Confers with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
  • Evaluates code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Maintains understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
  • Ability to write and perform QA and UAT test cases and work with offshore QA team.
  • Incorporates technical considerations into web site design plans, such as network security, scalability, following brand standards, performance requirements, or legal issues including accessibility and privacy.
  • Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
  • Creates, installs and configures software packages in Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Administers Microsoft Azure PLAS offerings including WebApps and SQL Databases
  • Creates custom automation scripts – Building, testing and deploying on Windows Operating System using PowerShell.
  • Applies and maintains DNS records and SSL Certificates.
  • Ability to create and consume APIs.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology-related field required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated successful development and implementation of new technologies and work processes.
  • Proficiency in project management, research and data analysis, program delivery, and business planning.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Engage effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Organize work, prioritize, and delegate to meet deadlines, and make timely decisions with sound judgment.
  • 3+ years in front-end programming languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • 3+ years in object-oriented programming language such as C# and PHP.
  • 2+ years of DevOps experience with PowerShell and C#
  • 2+ years of SQL Database experience writing queries and stored procedures.
  • 2+ years using source control and continuous deployment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications desired.
