The mission at Make-A-Wish America is to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness. The Receptionist/ Office Coordinator is a key contributor to the mission by providing front office and administrative support for the Executive Office, managing calls to the National Office on a multiple line telephone system, and greeting guests in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Answers incoming calls, transfers, and takes messages as needed. Directs callers to voice mail system when necessary. Takes overall responsibility for distribution of calls.
  • Greets visitors in a professional manner, and ensures their needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Maintains reception and lobby area, keeping it neat and organized.
  • Responds to emails from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America’s (MAWFA) general mail box. Distributes faxes to National Office staff via email.
  • Provides clerical support to the National Office with supervisor approval.
  • Takes care of supplies and general upkeep.
  • Maintains National Office Documents.
  • Oversees the Trip Reduction Plan program for the National Office.
  • Assists in the timely preparation and submission of accurate expense reports.
  • Assists with the maintenance of files and records related to the national board and its committees.
  • Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
1 year certificate from college or technical school; or related experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Excellent phone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multi-line telephone system, and distribute calls appropriately.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to take direction, prioritize, perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
