The mission at Make-A-Wish is to grant the wish of every child with a critical illness. The Learning & Innovation Manager is a key contributor to the mission by course development and facilitation.

Responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of the organization's employee performance through course development and facilitation, including maintenance of customized learning programs for the organization.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Work with Senior Leaders, Managers, Chapters and HR partners to build leadership capability, reinforce desired behaviors, and assess professional and leadership development needs and performance gaps.
  • Strategically partners leadership as a performance consultant to identify performance gaps and then work collaboratively to provide
  • Cultivate a robust leadership pipeline through development/training actions identified as part of the talent reviews and succession planning
  • Develop and  execute  a communication  strategy that promotes and cultivates a community oflearning and knowledge
  • Contribute to the overall success of the HR team by identifying ways to continuously improve the learning process and enhance learning effectiveness.
  • Design leadership programs using both off-the-shelf and custom designed content.
  • Develop and roll-out post training support and reinforcement tools to sustain behavioral change and drive improved performance and business outcomes
  • Partners with department and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop targeted curriculum and ensure quality
  • Oversees and innovates the Make-A-Wish Leadership Academy to ensure user experience is
  • Plan for and facilitate training effectively utilizing a variety of training delivery mechanisms including traditional instructor-led classrooms, co­ facilitation, workshops, and virtual classes or
  • Ensures all educational designs are aligned with Make-A-Wish University design standards, branding, and
  • Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development or related field required. Master's
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of all aspects of instructional design and delivery, including needs analysis, task analysis, sequencing, behavioral objectives, evaluation systems, formulating instructional strategies, developing and writing instruction, and media integration.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, especially in the areas of technical writing and facilitation/presentation
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with ability to handle multiple projects and deadline
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently , and be innovative and creative with course
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and the application of performance based training
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and interact with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Instructional design and facilitation
  • Certification in DiSC, Korn Ferry, Situational Leadership, and others a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, as well as Instructional Authoring software
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations is

Working Conditions:

  • Work in an office
  • Some travel
  • May require work outside a traditional Monday - Friday work week, and outside normal business
