This is our mission at Make-A-Wish America.  The Direct Response Specialist is a key contributor to the mission by assisting the direct mail team all aspects of the Chapter Direct Mail Partnership (CDMP) Program. Supports and implement acquisition, cultivation, renewal, and cross channel strategies that generates over $15 million annually. Provides customer service to chapters, donors, vendors, and National Office colleagues.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Caging and database liaison. Reviews vendors’ daily processing for accuracy/reasonably.
  • Implements and recommends key backend coding strategies required to realize program growth and revenue goals. Assists with enforcing contractual vendor agreements.
  • Manages CDMP monthly giver requests.
  • Accountable for the management of program invoices, insufficient funds, refunds and database reconciliations.
  • Manages direct mail audit and package costs allocation for SOP 98.
  • Manages all MAWA and chapter acquisition list sources, quarterly list rental/exchange file pulls, fulfillment of monthly chapter donor files, and ad hoc data needs of internal staff.
  • Supports chapter, donor and internal staff relationships.
  • Manages soft credit process to ensure donors are communicated and acknowledged correctly and to track donor giving patterns.
  • Explores innovative ways to create and enhance the CDMP program.
  • Submits, analyzes and reports campaign results as needed.
  • Assists program manager with campaign routings, wish approvals and daily communications with CDMP direct mail agency.
  • Assist with streamlining work through Enterprise Payment (EPS),
  • WorkFront programs and supports the creation/distribution of quarterly chapter memo.
  • Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Able to communicate understanding of intent and implement specified campaign instructions while adhering to program and production schedules.
  • Demonstrated success in direct response, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience in donor, vendor, and account management. 
  • Possess strong verbal, interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Engage effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Creative and resourcefulness
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under demanding deadlines.
  • The individual should be proficient with Excel spreadsheets and have database software experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to manage problems
  • involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Discretion with confidential materials.
  • Minimum of 3–4 years in marketing, fundraising, or account management required.
  • Strong working experience in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.

 Working Conditions

  • Travel may be required as needed for specific project engagements.
