The Application Support Specialist is a key contributor to the mission by serving as a liaison between product and developers to assist in defining scope, documenting and/or validating business requirements, identifying gaps, as well as assist with the applications implementation and support process.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Produce detailed functional requirement specifications from existing systems, previous drafts, and SME interviews.
  • Conduct gap analyses.
  • Conduct gap analyses.
  • Design and develop software applications, project prototypes, proofs of concept & client demos.
  • Analyzes functional problems and determines techniques and requirements most feasible for processing the data.
  • Oversees the implementation and testing of enhancements to the platform.
  • Capture, mitigate and /or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot & evaluate requests that filter through ticketing system.
  • Support tracking of bugs/enhancements/features as part of the change management process.
  • Support maintenance of business systems and interface applications.
  • Maintains understanding of current technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
  • Provide Tier 3 support to chapters and business.
  • Performs other related job duties, as assigned.
Educational Background: 
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or possess equivalent work experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated successful development and implementation of new technologies and work processes.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture and scalability.
  • Familiarity with SaaS applications.
  • Proficiency in project management, research and data analysis, program delivery, and business planning.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Engage effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
  • Organize work, prioritize, and delegate to meet deadlines, and make timely decisions with sound judgment.
  • Strong knowledge and working experience in QA and UAT.
  • Proven history of self-direction and ability to carry out assignments from beginning to end.
  • Analytical thinker, problem solver with high attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor and adaptable to change.
  • Familiarity with agile software delivery methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Jira, Agile.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud products, Samanage and/or Salesforce is helpful.
