Save the Children is seeking a Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Advisor for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded SBC program in Cambodia. The SBC Advisor will take the technical lead role in developing and guiding the implementation of sound and innovative SBCC activities in five target provinces, focusing on maternal and child health, malaria and TB. This senior-level SBC technical expert will build capacity of local staff in SBC throughout project design and implementation; overseeing community assessments and qualitative research; facilitating effective monitoring and evaluation of activities; ensuring effective integration; and supervising SBC staff and consultants.
Hiring is contingent on winning the proposal and USAID approval of candidate.
- Provide senior-level technical support for the overall integrated, cross-cutting strategic approach of the project
- Coordinate stakeholder and partner inputs to overall strategy development and demonstration project design
- Oversee and coordinate formative and evaluative research to design high impact interventions based on the social and cultural context in the five target provinces;
- Based on research findings and stakeholder consultations, coordinate with the SBCC team to lead the development of evidence-based and behavior-centered SBCC interventions, tools and materials;
- Provide technical oversight for the design, development and implementation of all SBCC tools and training materials;
- Build capacity of staff, stakeholders and local partners in SBC throughout project design and implementation.
- Extensive experience managing health, malaria or TB, and/or family planning, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene programs in developing county contexts, preferably Asia.
- A history of productive involvement with governmental health systems, processes and service delivery models in developing countries;
- Demonstrated knowledge and background in SBC including community engagement; including experience in SBCC strategy development (a minimum of 7 years), implementation and monitoring and evaluation of SBCC interventions.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, collaboration experience, creativity and willingness to innovate;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations;
- Familiarity and understanding of USAID policies and procedures, or those of other donors,
- Fluent oral and strong analytical, written English communications skills is required
