If you are passionate about reproductive health and rights and are seeking the opportunity to contribute in a mission-driven environment, consider joining Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSP) as Vice President for Advocacy and Public Affairs. This is a full-time position that reports to the President/CEO, serves as a member of senior leadership, oversees staff, supports a committed Board of Directors, and provides strategic leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of PPSP’s public policy initiatives.
Key responsibilities of this position include: 1) directing governmental relations efforts for PPSP (registered lobbyist in PA), including developing lobbying strategy; 2) overseeing electoral activities in southeastern PA through our state office political organizations, including working directly with candidates; 3) overseeing the communications and media efforts of PPSP; 4) creating, evaluating and advancing partnerships and communications that shape the climate in which PPSP pursues its goals and provides its programs, along with those that mobilize and increase community support for PP’s issues and services; 5) managing department staff and select volunteers.
The successful candidate must have direct and significant experience with lobbying and community/political organizing programs, media relations, and oversight of campaign activities along with extremely well developed written and verbal communications skills. Must be committed to protecting access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare, and be able and willing to perform all of the essential functions of the position.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in related area; 5+ years of leadership experience in government relations, lobbying, political advocacy, grassroots organizing and media messaging; significant management and supervisory experience are also required.
