The ReStore Warehouse Team Lead’s role is to supervise the smooth operation of the receiving, procurement, inflow and outflow of ReStore product. As well, the position is customer-facing, and representation of the ReStore and HFH brand is a factor in each. This person must have communication skills that promote productivity in a dynamic, often unpredictable work environment. The job is physically demanding, and a commitment to utilizing best practices and safety measures is essential. In addition, being solution oriented and regular collaboration with teammates to build best practices, set priorities and facilitate productivity are all traits that are important to this role.
Areas of Responsibility:
- In coordination with the ReStore Manager, provides general oversight of warehouse operations and staff/volunteer supervision to optimize work-flow, teamwork and scheduling.
- Oversees the screening and receiving of donations being dropped off for quality and ability to re-sell. Able to tactfully and politely accept or decline merchandise based on established guidelines. Accepting product and/or cash donations through donation area and providing receipts for donors.
- Assists as needed with unloading of all donations at the Restore loading dock in preparation for processing to the sales floor, overseeing that merchandise is staged properly in the receiving area once unloaded in preparation for processing to sales floor.
- Under the direction of the ReStore Manager, evaluate or research the value of incoming donations. Ensure processes are in place for proper pricing and labeling and/or signage on merchandise before placing on the sales floor.
- Oversee the proper disposal of unwanted or recyclable items.
- Provides outstanding customer service at donation receiving, donation pick-up, sales floor– serving as an ambassador of Habitat for Humanity to the community.
- Under the direction of the ReStore Manager, implements daily warehouse assignments, trafficking coverage at the donation drop-off area, sales floor/merchandising, donation pick-ups, pricing, and on special projects.
- Oversees all staff and volunteers adhere to the ReStore Safety guidelines and the use of safety equipment at all times when handling donations, equipment, merchandise and fixtures.
- Keep the sales floor and receiving areas in an orderly manner, ensuring maximum sales potential.
- Provide training to new ReStore Associates and ReStore Truck Drivers.
- Interacting with donating customers in a friendly, solution-oriented way.
Educational Background:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
Skills/Experience:
- Must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to move, lift, carry furniture and building materials donations.
