Agog, a groundbreaking nonprofit organization at the intersection of technology, communications, and social impact, is seeking an experienced operations professional to join its start-up team. As a core member of the operations team, the Operations Manager will support a growing organization by creating and improving upon the systems and structures that drive Agog’s work. They will also work closely with an integrated family office management company to manage Agog’s core operational support across functions including legal, grants, HR, finance, and IT.

Agog’s initial areas of focus include social justice and equity; high-impact storytelling; research, education, and outreach; and policy and ethics. Under the leadership of Executive Director Chip Giller and an impressive advisory board, Agog is poised for big impact as an ecosystem builder across the XR industry, the nonprofit sector, philanthropy, academia, and beyond.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Chief of Staff (CoS), the Operations Manager will support the team across the following areas:

  • Partner with the CoS in day-to-day management of Agog operations.
  • Support budget management and reporting.
  • Manage the process of contracting with vendors.
  • Develop systems for and oversee the management of Agog’s new CRM system.
  • Support Agog’s grantmaking processes.
  • Maintain rhythm of business, internal organizational calendars, and Agog’s intranet.
  • Coordinate team meetings and retreats.
  • Ensure staff have access to systems, hardware, and supplies.
  • Manage staff onboarding process in partnership with the Human Resources team.
  • Lead operational logistics for Agog events, including vendor management.
  • Manage inventory of hardware.
  • Identify and manage occasional physical spaces for Agog’s otherwise fully remote team, including hoteling for work/meetings and storage.
  • Be a part of creating Agog’s organizational culture.
Skills/Experience: 

While no one candidate will embody all the qualifications enumerated below, success in this role will require an experienced operations professional who possess many of the following professional and personal abilities, attributes, and experiences:

  • 5+ years experience in nonprofit operations or the equivalent.
  • Budget and contract management experience.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Comfort in working in a quick-paced environment to help develop new structures and frameworks that will involve experimentation, learning, and adjustments along the way.
  • Demonstrated history of experimenting with and implementing new technology; fluent with software including Gmail Workplace, Concur or other expense management software, CRMs like Salesforce, and collaboration tools such as Notion, Asana, or similar.
  • Adept at synthesizing different perspectives to develop or improve processes and procedures.
  • Ability to identify practices that support inclusion and belonging.
  • Strong judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Exceptional communication skills; adept at conveying ideas clearly and effectively.
  • A commitment to excellent internal and external customer service.
  • An interest in Agog’s mission.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Agog offers:

  • A competitive salary and strong benefits package. The salary range for this position is $140,000 – $150,000.
