The Development Manager directly oversees all responsibilities for grant operations and assists with management of the Salesforce database which supports multiple departments. The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of grant activities.

  • Grant Writing and Administration:
  • Perform prospect research on foundations, corporations and government opportunities for funding
  • Write clear compelling proposals, tailored to specific grantor needs and interests
  • Write private, corporate and government applications for grant support
  • Identify funder’s philanthropic goals and priorities and match these to Habitat programs
  • Work with the Finance Department to gather information necessary to report to funders on current grant programs
  • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundations including corporate and government agencies.
  • Establish budget goals in consultation with management and develop strategies to achieve them
  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by grantors
  • Provide support to other departments regarding compliance of funding
  • Maintain current records in the donor database, including grant tracking and reporting
  • Provide reports on status and pipeline prospects for funding
  • Manage, cultivate and steward relationships with grant donors
  • Maintain clear understanding of organizational programs, goals and financial needs.
  • Annually ensure Habitat Greater Orlando’s profile is updated with Guidestar and the Community Foundation of Central Florida.
  • Database Assistance:
  • Assist with database responsibilities including gift entry, reporting and management when needed
  • Proof mailing lists, donor recognition lists, data files, prospective donor lists

Have a clear understanding and provide support for reporting including but not limited to cash and revenue, dashboards, summary of new and lost revenues, pledges, pipeline and moves and gift reports

  • Additional functions:
  • Use of Microsoft 365, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Proofing as needed within the Development Division
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree is a required preferably in Business Management, Non-profit Management, or a related field
Skills/Experience: 

Competencies

  • Passionate about the Habitat for Humanity mission and purpose
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite Analytical with the ability to use intuition and experience to complement data and research
  • Ability to generate creative solutions and translate concepts and information into proposals
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong editing and proof reading skills a must
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in database management/Salesforce is preferred
  • Knowledge of data entry, reports and queries
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing work environment
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and maintain the level of excellence required

This is a full-time, salaried position. Some weekends may be required.
