The Faith & Special Projects Manager serves as an integral member of the development team reporting to the Sr. Director of Development and Marketing. Responsible for soliciting, cultivation, engagement, support and stewardship of current and new faith partnerships in the Omaha area and act as liaison to Habitat Omaha Washington & Burt County chapters.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivates and sustains partnerships with faith community to support and expand Habitat Omaha program capacity through contributions of time, talent and treasure.
  • Manages partnerships with external faith-based funding sources (e.g., Thrivent).
  • Collaborates with Habitat departments to plan and effectively implement coalition builds and Coalition Kick-off event.
  • Coordinates volunteers for all coalition build sites including Washington and Burt Counties; creating and maintaining coalition volunteer webpages.
  • Frequently presents/speaks at religious services, faith based events and meetings to promote support of Habitat Omaha mission.
  • Builds working relationships and serves as development liaison to key constituents including volunteers, donors and prospective donors to achieve successful fundraising.
  • Nurtures a culture of philanthropic support.
  • Provides content for reoccurring communication with faith partners and coalitions.
  • Collaborates with Communications Team to create and maintain faith partners marketing materials and tools.
  • Coordinates Habitat Omaha Global Village Trips including marketing, participant support during the trip and participant follow-up engagement.
  • Based on Habitat Omaha’s strategic plan, leads the tithe program in support of international affiliates.
  • Assists in short- and long-range strategic planning activities to create and implement fund-raising goals and objectives.
  • Makes effective use of the organization’s development database and other resources to ensure appropriate management of donors, prospects and volunteers in coordination with Habitat Omaha’s objectives.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree
Skills/Experience: 

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in development, program management or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership, relationship building collaboration and team building skills including working with volunteers and committees.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, effective time management and organization skills.
  • Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with a variety of audiences both social and professional at public speaking and small group events.
  • Demonstrated respect for diverse religions and faiths.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of Habitat Omaha donor information.
  • Goal-oriented professional who is able to work independently and cooperatively.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of attention to detail including the ability to meet deadlines and work under tight scheduling and competing priorities.
  • Ability to attend weekend events including religious services, church- or faith-based events.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office suite. Fundraising database programs and proficiency in desktop publishing, a plus.
  • Must have compassion for people of all backgrounds and a desire to end substandard housing.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation and willing to travel within Omaha area as well as Washington and Burt County volunteer events (mileage reimbursement).
