Responsible for providing effective customer service delivery in the areas of risk mitigation and compliance to region and corporate staff of a national company.  In addition to providing support, work closely with field staff and other departments to gather information for reporting and to facilitate compliance with certain laws and regulations.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for preparing and filing regulatory reports associated with the following: Auctions, Raffles/games of chance, Liquor licenses.
  • Maintain documentation on compliance procedures and resources to aid region and corporate staff.
  • Remain current on IRS, state and local regulatory reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Develop working knowledge of American Cancer Society programs and operations.
  • Prepare and file Charitable Gift Annuity and Census reports.
  • Assist in filing of unclaimed property returns in all applicable states and localities.
  • Timely preparation and filing of business licenses and permits and liquor licenses.
  • Monitoring status and renewal for all sales and use tax and property tax exemptions.
  • Gather and analyze monthly reports that will be used for preparation of returns.
  • Conduct sales and use tax reviews.
  • Serve as a backup to the Sr. Consultant, Event & Regulatory Compliance and Sr. Consultant, Sales Use & Property Tax.
  • Ad hoc projects and additional duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or related field required with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experienced or equivalent of education and experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent consulting and communication skills
  • Strong customer-service orientation• Strong attention to detail and ability to suggest quality control processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Knowledge of ACS financial systems including, but not limited to Lawson, EPRF, eTime and ACS special events (Relay, MSABC, Galas, Golf, etc) preferred.
