Project Manager, Community Impact

As a member of the Bay Area Division’s Corporate and Community Impact team, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, budgeting, overseeing and documenting all aspects of specific projects for assigned corporate accounts and community partnerships. Working closely with and facilitating a cross-functional account team, the Project Manager ensures the scope and direction of each project are on schedule and that functional goals and objectives are most effectively achieved.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Promote a collaborative environment where staff from various functions work together to achieve results across health, revenue and volunteerism goals for the organization.
  • Serve as a member of the Bay Area account management team responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate sponsors to generate a positive return on investment and increased revenue investment with the goal to renew or grow the account through various revenue streams.
  • Serve as a key contact and the project manager working with internal and external partners to activate sponsorships, fulfill contract deliverables, ensure action plans are defined, communicated and met across stakeholders and provide excellent customer service.
  • Organize internal teams and manage/ coordinate assigned projects through all phases of process. Develops a comprehensive project plan with identified timelines and resources.
  • Prepare agendas for project meetings and follows-up with action items, progress towards objectives and outcomes. Coordinate resources and communication to ensure that all internal and external stakeholders are informed and involved as needed for optimal achievement of project deliverables. Coordinate the sharing of information, strategies and best practices across department functions and divisions.
  • Manage cause activation campaigns for identified sponsors and coordinate logistics, manage cause budget allocations, and administrative support for campaigns as assigned.
  • Increase involvement in achieving revenue and health impact goals through integrating communication and committing actions on the AHA's strategic plan priorities and leveraging existing activities across diverse communities.
  • Serve as a resource in developing and preparing presentation and training materials; sponsorship proposals and materials supporting cause activation strategies in accordance with AHA guidelines and standards.
  • Organize and manage meetings, presentations and trainings from preparation through follow-up and ongoing stewardship.
  • Manage customer information within AHA systems in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated success in developing and achieving deliverables on time for complex projects including presentations, trainings, analytics or other resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to convey ideas, strategy, rationale, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and summarize complex information in order to identify and communicate trends and best practices.
  • Highly effective organization and planning skills and experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications- Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook and database management.
  • Experience leading and managing large, complex projects preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise on health priorities aligned with the AHA’s strategic goals and objectives is helpful.
