Habitat for Humanity of Island County is seeking a Construction Supervisor to start immediately. This individual will educate, train and manage volunteers while completing the construction of single and multi-family homes. This individual will be a teacher and coach tolerant and understanding of unskilled, enthusiastic volunteers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as daily on site leader throughout the entire build process
  • Host the volunteers, ensuring they have a fun and productive experience
  • Communicate schedule and materials needs with the Director of Construction
  • Insure compliance with applicable sustainable building standards and safety regulations
  • Maintain good working relationships with inspectors and sub-contractors
  • Develop team leaders to assist in the construction process
  • Supervise and manage all subcontractors when required
  • Maintain a build schedule that adheres to the affiliate plan
  • Work closely with the Director of Construction to develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures to be most efficient
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in all facets of new home construction, leadership experience a plus
  • Comfortable with people
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate volunteer work crews
  • Knowledge of Island County building codes and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices a plus
  • Able to work Saturdays
  • Physically able to work on the job site, able to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Valid WA driver’s license
