PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of the position is to provide managerial support and guidance to GAC and UN grants. The Project Manager will provide overall managerial support (planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation) of all projects assigned to him in South Darfur. S/he will provide technical, administrative, financial, and human resource management oversight in accordance with WV policies and donor requirements. S/he will ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects including ensuring visibility and effective communication with all stakeholders.
The Manager shall fully comply with safety and security procedures, child safe organizational policies of WVI and program/humanitarian accountability practices and ensure partners adhere to these and be accountable for it.
The post holder will also provide advisory supports for the designing, planning, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of all WV Sudan Child Care, Gender, and Education projects.
This position will be based in Nyala, South Darfur (70 per cent) with travel to other locations (30 per cent).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish, implement, and report on projects:
- Set-up projects as per the design detailed in proposal documentation (narrative, log frame, budget, PMP) and the contract with donors in close collaboration with implementing partners, relevant government line ministries, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to programme development and quality assurance for Child Care, Gender, and Education (CCGDE) projects:
- Provide technical advice on CCGDE projects in all locations where WV Sudan operates.
Management and other Responsibilities:
- Identify vacancies and support P+C to fill the vacancies ensuring adequate resourcing for each position before advertising it (this entails developing and reviewing role profiles / job descriptions, reviewing and aligning payroll bands, advertising vacant positions, managing the interviewing processes, making appointments, overseeing orientation and probation periods).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, rural development or a related field from accredited university.
Preferred:
- Masters’ degree in Sociology, International Development, or a related field from accredited university.
Working Environment / Conditions:
- Field based (over 70 per cent).
