REI Project Manager

This job is no longer available

New York, NY, United States
Full-time

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is the nation’s leading women’s health care provider, educator, and advocate, serving women, men, teens and families. For over 100 years, PPFA has done more than any other organization in the United States to improve women’s health and safety, prevent unintended pregnancies, and advance the right and ability of individuals and families to make informed and responsible health care decisions.
Over the last few years, Planned Parenthood has significantly expanded our work in African-American, Latinx, and other communities of color. The demographics of the country and our patient base have centered the importance of deepening our relationships and partnerships across race, class, and generation. When we combine this demographic shift with fights for justice in sister movements for immigration reform and racial justice, taking an race-informed approach to our work is even more critical. PPFA’s Race Equity Initiative, allows the CXO Division of Planned Parenthood to evaluate how race impacts our policy, power-building, and culture change work--first by looking at the structures, practices, and policies internally that can lead us to disparate outcomes. The Race Equity Initiative as part of the office of the CXO seeks a Project Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, internal communications, and reporting of the REI project. This position reports to the CXO Division’s Director of Strategic Initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
  • Develop a schedule to meet project goals that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated.
  • In consultation with the Director of Strategic Initiatives and current REI working group, the REI Project Manager will create a process for the appropriate expansion of the work by department, with an emphasis towards developing and coaching staff to create ambitious goals and create plans to meet them.
  • Manage the group of Equity Coaches who are working throughout the division to help individual departments meet their goals, including setting meeting agendas and facilitating group meetings, providing technical assistance in using racial equity tools, and developing plans for trainings and retreats.
  • Manage consultants to work on the project as appropriate.
  • Develop processes for accountability through documentation of project activities.
  • Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
  • Draft reports on the project for management and for funders and coordinate communications with funders.
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly).
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
