Coordinator, Revenue Cycle

The Coordinator, Revenue Cycle is responsible to assist in data collection and analysis for audits, assist with clinician credentialing, process credit balances and refund requests, validate patient services for certain invoices for insurance information, eCW maintenance, and other support functions related to revenue cycle activities.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Process patient credit balances, confirm refund is due, adjust balances if necessary, offset payments when appropriate, verify patient demographics, and prepare refund requests for finance.  Mail refund checks to patients once received.  Assist Finance when refund checks are returned as undeliverable. 
  • Review insurance credit balance report provided by billing vendor, confirm refund is due, adjust balances if necessary and prepare insurance refund requests for finance.  Mail once received. 
  • Collect data from PPHP’s billing software for internal compliance and coding audits.  Such audits as 340B and non-340B drug charges, charge billing compliance, and Title X data.  Data reviewed includes billed charges, modifiers, prices, patient registration forms, sliding fees, income levels, and insurance waivers.   
  • Collecting data from PPHP’s billing software for external audits.  This can include progress notes for insurance coding/documentation audits and patient demographics/charges for Finance audits.
  • Review certain invoices monthly, and provide the vendor with insurance information as necessary, and assist in ensuring PPHP is charged the appropriate amount.
  • Assist HR and Finance in the clinician credentialing process, including preparing packages to be mailed for clinician signatures.
  • Become a certified application counselor (CAC) and assist with demographic corrections as needed.
  • Maintaining/Updating PPHP’s billing software tables, such as CPT/HCPCS charges and fee schedules.
  • Reviewing and correcting claims in PPHP’s billing software.  Including but not limited to, department corrections, sliding fee amounts, self-pay balance review.
  • Process mail return for self-pay statements.
  • Other tasks/projects as assigned by the Director, Revenue Cycle.
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or equivalence
Associates Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred. 
  • Four years’ experience in finance/revenue cycle preferred
  • This position requires a well-organized detail oriented individual with excellent computer, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • The Coordinator, Revenue Cycle must have the ability to work as a team player under tight deadlines.
  • This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, and weekends.
  • Commitment to the goals of Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic.
