Responsible for developing and tracking annual and long-term financial plans and forecasting and supporting development and management of high quality investments. May manage program’s investment pipeline through monitoring of execution, financial forecasting and advice to team members. Leads operational improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining investment development, approval, and monitoring. The Financial Manager will work closely with the ICO, GPA, and FP&A teams on a wide range of financial and operations issues. They will serve a critical role in developing and tracking projects, including the submission and presentation of these analyses to the ICO, GPA, and FP&A leadership and management teams working in close collaboration with the ICO Strategy Planning & Management Team.
- Development of the ICO annual financial plan and 5-year financial forecast.
- Ongoing management of the ICO’s investment pipeline and budget through monitoring of execution, financial forecasting and advice to ICO staff.
- Perform analysis and provide leadership with strategic and financial information to support effective financial resource allocation and decision-making during strategy refreshes and reviews.
- Transaction development and due diligence (including grant budget review and institutional income statement review) for critical investments supporting impact goals.
- Work closely with ICO leadership and program team to translate ICO strategy into long-term investment forecast and annual plan.
- Review of annual reports and budget to actuals for subsequent payments of critical investments.
- Create financial monitoring tools that support decision-making and communication with senior leadership, including workflow management and monitoring tools, and partner with teams to manage grant and contract spending.
- Identify operational and financial risks of executing against annual budgets and propose mitigating strategies to leadership.
- Perform financial and risk analysis to support investment-making and investment management. Partner with program teams to structure effective investments and develop appropriate mitigating strategies to manage risk.
- Analyze business plans and examine the economics of a certain business; analyze the financial health of organizations through discussions with finance leaders and reviewing financial statements.
- Provide technical support to grantees to build their financial management capacity.
- Support work on complex transactions and special projects (for ICO and across foundation) and lead those that require a financial analysis component.
- May interact with grantees and partners in the field.

Qualifications
- Advanced degree with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Direct experience in India, or in other relevant international or private sector institution with a strong presence in India.
- 6+ years of experience in a business/financial planning role.
- Finance and strategy background and work experience. Knowledge of strategy development, business/financial planning, risk management, and general management practices.
- Technical and complex financial knowledge – for instance, activity-based costing, portfolio analysis, NPV analysis.
- Knowledge of strategy development, business/financial planning, risk management, and general management practices.
- Strong analytics (especially financial modeling, investment/deal structuring).
- Knowledge and experience regarding relationship management.
- Knowledge of risk management and due diligence.
- Knowledge of systems and processes related to financial management.
- Knowledge of FCRA requirements.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to partners with diverse backgrounds, including leadership, program staff, grantees and other foundation operational resources.
