Partnership Manager, Hurricane Irma Response

This is a temporary position in support of Save the Children’s Response and Recovery program as a result of Hurricane Irma. This position is expected to have a duration of three months with a potential of being extended, dependent upon performance, funding, and work availability.

The Southwest Florida Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of all Early education (ED) programs in the established region and will be the technical expert. The position will report to the Deputy Team Leader Programs (DTL Programs).

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • PARTNERSHIPS: The Partnerships Manager will identify and build strategic partnerships, in collaboration with the DTL, with education partners (including school boards, child care networks, after-school programs, etc.) to support in assessment and identification of critical unmet needs.
  • ASSESSMENTS: The Partnerships Manager, in collaboration with the DTL Programs, will conduct assessment of education facilities serving our target age-range (pre-birth through third grade) including schools. Pre-kindergarten programs, Head Start programs, child care programs and out-of-school time programs/summer camps.
  • PROGRAM PLANNING, TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS: The Partnerships Manager will contribute to the development of the child care and school response and recovery plan, identifying criteria for program support, locations and map the providers in affected area. He/she will work in close collaboration with other program managers and the DTL to ensure an integrated program in emergency response. Partnerships Manager will provide on-going capacity building to ED team, child care providers and education partners on education in emergencies.
  • FINANCE AND BUDGETING: The Partnerships Manager, in collaboration with the DTL/TL, will manage the sub grant process for any education partners (child care or schools. The ED Program Manager will contribute to developing a program budget, in close collaboration with the DTL 
  • STAFF MANAGEMENT: The Partnerships Manager will manage the ED child care and school teams (response staff) assigned to conduct on-site assessments, develop individualized recovery plans and maintain relationships with child care providers/schools. He/she will manage ED team, including daily staff schedule and ensuring staff have appropriate wellness (days off and balance) . ED Program Manager will coach, mentor and support ED team.
  • DISTRIBUTIONS OF PROCURED ITEMS AND GIFTS IN KIND: Partnerships Manager will manage GIK requests and distributions for child care/education programs, and will ensure, in close collaboration with the response finance team, that all policies and procedures for GIK and procured items are followed. ED Program Manager will be responsible for compiling the purchase orders for the various ED teams and submit to the logistics officer as per requested by response operations protocol.
  • CHILD SAFEGUARDING & INCIDENT TRACKING: Partnerships Manager, in collaboration with the DTL Programs, will develop the Standard Operating Procedure for Child Safeguarding for the response and provide training(s) for the ED team. ED Program Manager, in close collaboration with the CFS Manager, will develop and update the CP/CSG incident tracker with any incidents that occur in our education programs . Uphold Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy as well as principles of do no harm and confidentiality.
  • MONITORING, EVALUATION, ACCOUNTABILITY AND LEARNING: in collaboration with the DTL and MEAL, will establish accountability mechanisms – including feedback mechanism, stakeholder engagement meetings – to document program impact or areas for improvement and will write the ED piece of the daily sit rep and maintain the ED output tracker, entering beneficiary and program details on a daily basis, with support from MEAL and DTL.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor of Arts Degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • You have a minimum 3 years' experience in Early Childhood Education and Programming; or other human service programming
  • Strong community engagement skills
