Purpose of the position:
The position ensures successful reporting, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of Tana River Health System Strengthening project in collaboration with Ministry of Health staffs at health facilities, Sub County and County levels.
In collaboration with MoH at county and sub county level, the staff shall lead continuous data entry and analysis and interpretation of project routine data to inform project progress and ensure delivery of a quality services.
He/she will also support/lead establishment of systems for gathering, reporting and analyzing performance data for impact and sustainability of project implementation.
To effectively communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that serves as an example to others.
Major Responsibilities:
Project Monitoring and Evaluation 55%
In liaison with project staffs, project manager and Communication team develop documentation/articles, case studies, human interest stories in print, electronic and mass and share with relevant partners at county and national level
Support the M&E technical Specialists to review and provide feedback to programs on the quality of methodologies established to collect monitoring data and document the protocol that are in place for collecting and aggregating of data.
In liaison with Program Officer, Project Manager and Regional DME, establish an effective system for assessing the validity of data through verification and appropriate technology.
In liaison with program staff and other implementing partners review progress reports in accordance with approved reporting formats.
In liaison with Project Manager present program monitoring data in the Sub-County and county MNCH and nutrition multi-sectoral steering committee and partner meetings on a regular basis.
Lead project monitoring, mid-term evaluations and end of project evaluations while ensuring appropriate documentation and dissemination of the results.
Update Community Management of Acute Malnutrition database and collaborate with sub-county and county health information record officers to ensure district health information is updated on monthly basis
Maintaining a tracking spreadsheet for M&E activities and events – baselines, assessments, reviews, evaluations – tracking trends and recommendations, progressing their implementation where appropriate;
Develop terms of terms of references for project evaluations and assessments
Supporting World Vision and Ministry of Health and Ministry of Agriculture staff and partners and building their capacity in M&E issues and in the management of information systems, such as the development of required formats, key indicators, needs assessments, frameworks for evaluation, qualitative documentation of outcomes and impact of projects
Documentation of learning and best practices 30%
Work with project team and County government officers to establish systems for gathering, reporting and analyzing performance data for impact and sustainability of project implementation.
Together with the project manager coordinate all monitoring, evaluations and researches deliverables for the project and ensure that all required reports and documentation for the project are conducted as per work plan.
Ensure data for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual progress reports on the status of project implementation is available for timely submission.
Ensure timely communication with the project team and other relevant partners to ensure proper documentation and sharing of project best practices
In liaison with project manager organize learning meetings, events and workshops for programme staff to document lessons learnt, good practices and areas of improvement
Collaborations and engagements 10%
In liaison with county nutrition coordinator establish county information working group
Represent world vision in county or national technical working groups as shall be required

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Nutrition/ Food security/Statistics
Minimum two years experience in nutrition/ food security program
Knowledge and experience of MNCH and Nutrition
Registered with respective professional association such as Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (KNDI)
Possess and demonstrate basic IT skills, and excellent report writing skills
Demonstrated understanding and experience of working with Ministries of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and other structures at county and national levels and networking with other partners
Good communication and writing skills
A team player, capable of building capacity of staff and partners
The ability to work within a team, on ones own initiative with minimum supervision, and excellent communication skills will also be essential
