The purpose of this position is to ensure the effective installation/configuration, provisioning, operation, and maintenance of customer systems software, applications and related infrastructure. You are responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the client technology services and support area of IT. To provide Level 1and 2 support and work with vendors on Level 3 support. To resolve complex and/or non-routine problems for internal and external customers. To provide technical leadership of the maintenance and support for all client products.
IT Systems Administration 30%
- Performs routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patch management and hot fixes.
- Tracking and validation of systems configuration changes and documentation.
- Ensure accessibility to systems, servers and files.
- Infrastructure systems are maintained at optimal performance.
- Analyzes operational metrics to understand performance and to ensure success in process improvements.
- Continual process improvement for optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
- Ensure functionality of systems components and services.
- Ensure systems hardware and software components meet the needs of the business and provide highest level of availability and performance of systems to users.

Technical Requirements, 20%
- Determines requirements impact on existing architecture, work processes and systems.
- Works with impacted areas to ensure proper communication / review of requirements and integration.
- Determines infrastructure systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Identification of issues regarding impact of and integration with existing architecture, processes and systems.
Customer Support, 20%
- Provides Level 1 and 2 customer support.
- Diagnoses escalated problems or escalates, when needed.
- Investigates alternative methods to expedite problem resolution.
- Recommends procedures and controls for problem resolution or creates temporary solutions until permanent solutions can be implemented.
- Researches, analyzes and recommends the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any problems.
- Reviews checklists and scripts.
- Analysis and recommendations for Systems performance improvements.
- Capacity building for team members.
- Analyze helpdesk call patterns and tickets and generate reports to management
IT Systems Security 10%
- Implementation contingency plans including reliable backup and restore procedures, network devices configuration backups and imaging.
Business continuity, 10%

- Identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation.
Policies, Procedures and Standards, 5%
- Supports and helps establish systems environment standards.
- Works with auditors, security groups, and data owners to make sure of governance, regulations, and compliance to policies and procedures.
- Defines procedures for user access to systems environment. Maintains system operating procedures and documentation.

Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecoms, Information Systems, or other related field.
- Requires 5 years of relevant networking work experience. 2 of which must be in a systems administration role
- MCSE or equivalent experience.
- Programming Knowledge in PYTHON or C will be an added advantage
- Good working knowledge of WAN & LAN technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems configuration and administration
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
